Privacy Policy

Vibe Tonite · Last updated September 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Vibe Tonite ("Vibe Tonite," "we," "us") collects when you use our app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Vibe Tonite is an app for finding and joining local plans and activities with people nearby, so by its nature it involves sharing more with other users than a typical app — this policy is written to be specific about that.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your email or phone number and password (handled by our authentication provider), and your date of birth, which we use only to confirm you're 18 or older.

Profile information. Username, profile photos, age, bio text, and any optional prompts or details you add to your profile.

Identity verification photos. If you choose to verify your profile, we collect a selfie photo to confirm it matches your profile photos. This photo is used only for verification and is not shown to other users.

Plans, messages, and activity. The plans ("meetups") you post or request to join, chat messages (including voice messages) with people you meet, lobby chat messages, friend requests, and reports or blocks you file.

Location. Approximate location (city/metro area) to show you nearby plans, and the location you attach to a plan you post. If you turn on live location sharing during an active meetup (described in Section 3 below), we also collect approximate, timestamped location updates for the duration of that share.

Emergency contact information. If you choose to add an emergency contact, we store the name, phone number, and relationship you provide for that contact. This is optional and used only for the safety features described below.

Device and diagnostic information. Push notification tokens (so we can send you notifications you've opted into), and crash/error diagnostic data collected automatically through our crash-reporting tool if the app encounters a problem.

Feedback and support. Anything you submit through in-app feedback or bug reports.

2. How we use your information

3. Live location sharing and emergency contacts

Vibe Tonite includes an optional safety feature that lets you share your live location with an emergency contact you've added, for a limited window of time around a meetup. This feature is off unless you turn it on for a specific meetup, automatically stops after a set time or when you end it, and only shares with the person(s) you choose. We do not use this location data for any other purpose, such as advertising.

4. Who can see your information

Your profile and the plans you post are visible to other users of the app. Chat messages are visible only to you and the person you're chatting with (or, for lobby chat, other members of that lobby). We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share your data with advertisers for targeted ads.

We share limited data with the service providers that help us run the app: our database and authentication provider, our web hosting provider, our crash-reporting provider, and our push-notification provider. These providers only receive what they need to perform their function and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of our users, or to enforce our Terms of Service.

5. Blocking and reporting

If you block someone, your plans and profile are hidden from them and theirs from you, in both directions. If you file a report, we store the details you provide so our team can review it; reports are not visible to other users.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can deactivate your account at any time, which hides your profile and plans but keeps your data in case you return (this is reversible). You can also permanently delete your account from your profile settings, which removes your personal data from our systems, except where we're required to retain certain records — for example, an active safety report involving your account.

7. Your choices and rights

You can access, correct, or delete most of your information directly in the app. You can turn location access off in your device settings at any time (this will limit some features, like seeing nearby plans). Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data — for example, California residents have rights under the CCPA to know what information we collect and to request deletion, and residents of the UK/EU have similar rights under GDPR. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

8. Children's privacy

Vibe Tonite is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we verify date of birth at sign-up to enforce this. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will remove it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data protected.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by other reasonable means. Continued use of Vibe Tonite after a change means you accept the updated policy.
